DweebUI v0.05 - A simple docker web UI - (with docker container) reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-17 18:34 I had to make a lot of updates since dockerizing DweebUI, but it's now back to a working state. Before anyone gets their hopes up, I've made several visual changes that are only there as a placeholder at the moment. I'm working on displaying container logs and compose support next. Github: https://github.com/lllllllillllllillll/DweebUI Changelog: https://github.com/lllllllillllllillll/DweebUI/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md ---------------------------------------------------------------------- root_15 · 2023-11-17 20:06 Damn this looks nice ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-17 20:46 Thanks! There are a few more screenshots here: https://github.com/lllllllillllllillll/DweebUI/tree/main/screenshots ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrashOverride93 · 2023-11-18 00:05 Incredible! I was looking for something like this since long ago. I will test it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- isleepbad · 2023-11-18 00:07 I was literally about to ask about logs before I looked at your last 2 lines. Once that's done I'll definitely check it out. Would be a nice replacement for portainer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 00:25 I've got to fix the compose file. The one I posted was setup for local files, so you would need to download the files from github, then run 'docker compose up -d --build'. Any testing or feedback is appreciate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 00:28 Being able to offer it as a 100% free and open-source alternative to Portainer is definitely my main focus. I'd like to keep it as simple and light as I can. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CringeGinge666 · 2023-11-18 04:24 I'm not trying to be an asshole since this looks really cool, but why's it called dweeb? The word doesn't have great connotations, and I probably wouldn't install a program called 'loser' y'know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 05:45 Haha, fair enough. It's was just Docker+Web=Dweeb. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kkazakov · 2023-11-18 06:39 Currently it has a lot of issues, mostly with installation. I was unsuccessful installing it on Orange Pi 5 + ( arm64/v8) The specified image is amd64 only. I've built my own from source, however I'm getting errors that it cannot find /app/app.js when started. I've downloaded the latest, 0.0.6 version and built as usual with docker build . -t ... I'm giving up on this atm, it's pretty much very unstable, sadly. I needed something very simple and this might have been the interface, but it's not there yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 07:34 I'll have to see if I can create an arm image. I think the only thing I have with an arm processor is the original raspberry pi model b. You may be able to build a working from source using 'docker compose up -d --build' with this compose file: services: dweebui: container_name: DweebUI build: context: . environment: NODE_ENV: production restart: unless-stopped ports: - 8000:8000 depends_on: - cache links: - cache volumes: - dweebui:/app - caddy:/app/caddyfiles - /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock cache: container_name: DweebCache image: redis:6.2-alpine restart: always command: redis-server --save 20 1 --loglevel warning --requirepass eYVX7EwVmmxKPCDmwMtyKVge8oLd2t81 volumes: - cache:/data proxy: container_name: DweebProxy image: caddy:2.4.5-alpine depends_on: - dweebui restart: unless-stopped network_mode: host volumes: - caddy:/data - caddy:/config - caddy:/etc/caddy volumes: dweebui: cache: caddy: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacksaur · 2023-11-18 12:34 It's a fine name, it's humourous. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fifteengetsyoutwenty · 2023-11-18 13:54 This looks great! Quick question though: can I pull out the Caddy references? I don’t have the ability to use a proxy manager and use Cloudflare tunnels instead. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kkazakov · 2023-11-18 14:51 Thank you. It's all good, just tested on Orange Pi 5+ Couldn't run it on RPI2 with DietPi, getting this error: `no matching manifest for linux/arm/v7 in the manifest list entries` If you can fix that, would be amazing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 17:57 Yes, I want to keep everything optional. Caddy being setup like that is temporary. I've built a new image without the Caddy UI. You can remove Caddy from the compose file and use the image: image: lllllllillllllillll/dweebui:v0.06-dev-nocad ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fifteengetsyoutwenty · 2023-11-18 20:11 Awesome!! I will try that out this week (hopefully lol) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-18 22:45 New multi-platform image available in dev branch. Should support arm64/v8, arm64/v8, and arm64/v6. https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/lllllllillllllillll/dweebui/t ags?page=1&ordering=last_updated Let me know if it works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- endockhq · 2023-11-19 00:29 I'm going to submit a PR to help you with Docker build issues using Github Actions. It will auto build the image for multiple platforms. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- endockhq · 2023-11-19 01:04 PR has been submitted! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lllllllillllllillll · 2023-11-19 01:22 Reading it now, Thank you. I was able to create the multi-platform image earlier manually using a 'docker-container' builder and 'docker buildx' to build v0.06-dev, which has amd64,arm64, arm64/v7, arm64/v6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- endockhq · 2023-11-19 01:23 Using github actions will automate the process for each release and merge into the main branch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kkazakov · 2023-11-19 05:34 I'm getting multitude of errors and the container keeps restarting: `Error: Cannot find module 'express'` `Require stack:` `- /app/app.js` `at Module._resolveFilename (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:1082:15)` `at Module._load (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:928:27)` `at Module.require (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:1149:19)` `at require (node:internal/modules/helpers:121:18)` `at Object.
