Looking for automated audio conversion reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 03:48 I have a bunch of radio shows in .opus format. Each show is split into 1 hour segments so there's 3-4 files per show. What I'm looking for is a way to scan the folders (there's one show per folder), join the files together, then convert to mp3 or m4b. So I end up with one file per show. Anyone know of anything like that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dweymouth · 2023-11-16 03:53 I don't know about any off-the-shelf solution but if you have just a bit of scripting knowledge this would be really easy to do using ffmpeg and a cron job to schedule a custom script to scan and invoke the appropriate ffmpeg command as needed ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 04:19 That's beyond my abilities unfortunately. I'm savvy enough to read a script and modify it to make it work, but clueless coming up with the script in the first place. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dweymouth · 2023-11-16 04:50 maybe this will be helpful? https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Concatenate There are some one-liners in there you could run manually for the completed radio folders where you aren't waiting for more shows before merging them ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mindless_Grape_4039 · 2023-11-16 06:13 You can download reaper for free, drop your files in (in order) and then make render queues to render the shows accordingly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- remghoost7 · 2023-11-16 08:03 What does the naming scheme look like? Is it like "part1.opus", "part2.opus", etc? I'm an amateur programmer, bored, and feel like stitching together a program. lol. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- remghoost7 · 2023-11-16 09:39 [Here's a repo for it.](https://github.com/remghoost/opus-stitcher) It's a drag and drop gui. Just drag the folder onto the gui and it should process the files inside (in alphabetical order), then name the output `.mp3` after the folder's name. It will put the output into the folder you dragged onto the gui. Sorry, pyinstaller is being a ~~bitch~~ today, so you'll have to `git clone` and whatnot. Instructions in the readme. Written in python 3.10.9, but should be fine in other versions (probably). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 15:06 Thanks,. Ill give that a shot ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 15:07 CDool, I'll check it out. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 15:23 2009-01-03-hour-1.opus, 2009-01-03-hour-2.opus, etc. I really appreciate the help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkPugnerIII · 2023-11-16 15:23 Thanks so much! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- remghoost7 · 2023-11-16 23:27 No problem. Let me know if it works / if there's any changes you'd like.
