How I solved the dilemma of personal notes reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n1___ · 2023-11-14 12:49 Author here. This is my take on such simple thing that notes are. Feel free to share your set ups/write ups. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IceOleg · 2023-11-14 13:18 Maybe not feedback you are looking for, but I had to zoom your site to 170...200 % to get letters that were a reasonable size to read. The pixel font is very straining to read for me. I closed the blog after a few sentences, I'm not gonna hurt my eyes even if the content could be an interesting take. I like the visual vibe you are going for, but it just isn't comfortable to read for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dazchad · 2023-11-14 13:44 No mention on orgmode? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n1___ · 2023-11-14 15:54 Is that a standalone app? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n1___ · 2023-11-14 15:54 Fair feedback. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dazchad · 2023-11-14 16:00 orgmode was created on emacs, and people that love it, reaaaally love it. There are plugins for pretty much any editor, even VSCode. I think there was also a website that had a browser version, but don't remember the name. It's basically a structured text format, and accompanying shortcuts to make editing/navigating it easier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GregoriyTheGamer · 2023-11-14 20:11 I think endless searching for the perfect notes app is a form of procrastination. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n1___ · 2023-11-15 05:42 Well....no...um...yea. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rorykoehler · 2023-11-15 11:22 This is a fantastic write up and solves lots of my own issues. I run Obsidian as my main on desktop. I was syncing to mobile via Dropbox and a markdown notes app that supported Dropbox but they stopped maintaining the app and I never found a good solution since then. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n1___ · 2023-11-15 21:58 Thank you. Keeping stuff simple prevents it from being dismantled by other sides. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-11-17 18:10 Thank you for your share! For future reference, we ask that you create a text post with the link to the blog in the body of the text, and a few sentences on why it's relevant to the community. We look forward to future content. Cheers, /r/selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-11-17 18:11 Hey, /u/n1___, Since you've had a previous warning about how to post correctly for blogs, your post has removed.
