Looking for Recommendations on an ECM reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobfranz · 2023-11-13 21:42 Good afternoon all, Looking for recommendations on an ECM to manage all of our company documents. Currently we are using Dockmee Cloud, which by all standards has everything we need except good customs support. We have no control over user and last time I had an employee leave it took days to get their credentials removed. This is a very bad security risk for me as if the employee was malicious they could have deleted everything on our account. That and I have to pay just to add or remove my user a support fee. So before my renewal date I am looking to replace this service. I was hoping to find something similar that I can self host but would take suggestions for a cloud solution as well. We are a transportation company and use this as our daily workflow to track and manage all the paperwork for all the shipments, as all members of our team are remote working. Our current setup that I would need to re-mimic would be as follows.... 1) Documents stored in a cabinet/folder structure. This would include either subfolders or tags that can be used to filter by dates. Similar to the below. Some will need secondary date filtering as below and some do not and are just plain storage cabinet/folder. https://preview.redd.it/0p9ck0ahp60c1.png?width=249&format=png&auto=we bp&s=d0e6c96ee54a9a508f2bdcb705775cac645fcc12 2) We require the ability to edit PDF's by adding and removing pages to them. 3) Customizable index/metadata fields, such as the ability to use date fields, preferably fields that allow pre-set lists in a dropdown. For example status changes. 4) User account creation, permission control and the ability to remove users. Hoping someone out there has a similar service to what we are using that may be more appropriate for us. Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-13 22:30 Use the search and look at the sidebar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobfranz · 2023-11-13 22:39 Boy if I only thought of that. Maybe the last 4.5 hours of searching and demoing products wouldn't have been wasted. What I was looking for was a recommendation based on what my specific criteria is seeing as i have been unable to find a proper solution thus far. That is why I asked here so others might be able to assist based on their previous experience with these software types. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-13 22:43 Boy, if you have already looked at and tried some things, then maybe it would be a good idea to mention those in your post? So that people dont waste their time recommending to you what you have already excluded? Things like this get asked constantly and most people do not bother to simple use the search and find existing recommendations, or look through the awesome-selfhosted list in the subreddit sidebar to find a lot of options to try out.
