Pihole: Certifikate Error from router ONLY at home (in the LAN) reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nerdwithoutattitude · 2023-11-13 14:09 After installing and configuring pihole, I can no longer reach my self-hosted stuff when I'm on my LAN and using the corresponding subdomain that redirects to the service via reverse proxy. Outside the LAN everything works fine and even if I use the IP (192.16.8.X.X). I have now simply specified the local IPs for the stationary devices, but this is of course not a workaround for the mobile devices. So somehow there is a problem between my router and the reverse proxy. Both services run on different devices (with different IPs). The error message I'm getting is a trust/certificate problem with my router, which I've never had before, as there is a redirect that leads to the clients with SSL certificates. Unfortunately, my router - a FritzBox - does not have an SSL certificate (the lab firmware is not available for my cable router). Can I change something in pihole, nginx proxy manager or the fritzBox to avoid this error? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GenerlAce · 2023-11-13 17:56 I’m not 100% sure if this fits what happened in Your case. But my personal issue when using my subdomain in LAN was that I didn’t have “hairpin-NAT” setup on my router. Once I got my router configured with hairpin to point to the server, all subdomains worked from both local and remote.
