How to properly set up spamassassin as postfix's mail filter without spamd? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0xFFE ยท 2023-11-12 12:30 I have my personal mail server which receives 5-10 mail notifications a day. I don't get any spam, but I want to set up SPF/DKIM validation to prevent spoofing just in case. I know how to do this with spamassassin, and there are a ton of instructions for spamc, but I really don't want spamd running 24/7 and eating a good chunk of my 1G RAM. For now I ended up with piping emails to a script. In postfix's master.cf: spamassassin unix - n n - 5 pipe user=spamassassin argv=/usr/local/bin/spamfilter ${sender} ${recipient} And the script contains a single line: cat | spamassassin | /usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -r "$1" "$2" It works, but feels hacky. Is there a better way to do this?
