Speed Up Nextcloud on my server / NAS reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Merseyside69 · 2023-11-11 14:11 Hi! r/NextCloud I've been looking for an alternative to NextCloud for a few days as I wasn't happy with its speed, but was happy with the interface I didn't find anything and decided to optimize it a bit myself, combining speed with usability. I posted my work on [GitHub Repo](https://github.com/maffinca69/Nextcloud-Unit-Docker). Maybe it will be useful to someone P.S. Loading is done in 1s, speed has increased by 1.5-2x. P.S.S. I switched to using Nginx Unit + Redis + OPCache + PostgreSQL + Cron, all this gave a significant increase in speed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FloHallo · 2023-11-11 14:39 I didn't know about nginx unit, looks awesome! I have to try it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Merseyside69 · 2023-11-11 14:43 Nginx Unit: https://unit.nginx.org/ What I like most about Unit is the simplicity of configuration and the complete abandonment of php-fpm. Thanks to this the performance is better, it holds loads better, because there are no problems with vorkers BTW. If you getting problem, you can open issue or MR :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UnkwnNam3 · 2023-11-11 15:40 I'm using OCIS now, up/download speeds are ~10 times as high as in nextcloud. Even with tweaked nginx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Merseyside69 · 2023-11-11 15:46 I try it, thx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooPets20 · 2023-11-11 17:06 But also has almost no features compared to Nextcloud. Only file sync for now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- twf57ca2 · 2023-11-11 22:34 Nextcloud with a proper configured mariadb is faster than Mysql or postgresql ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Merseyside69 · 2023-11-12 05:34 Do you have an example of the correct configuration? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- twf57ca2 · 2023-11-12 11:17 That wouldn't be useful, because the right parameters are based on your Personal load pattern. Just configure as in the docs and then use mysqltuner.pl after a week or two. Disclaimer: I did a few nextcloud cluster deployments with 10k+ concurrent Users and petabyte storages. Regarding the mariadb Drama I'd probably chose Mysql today.
