It’s worked great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-11-11 21:49 I tried balena sound and it works ok, but honestly I don't think that a RPI is a great base for a multiroom speaker setup. - if you have 10s boot time, you can be lucky - rpi4 can consume 7 watt under load or 3 idle... That's a lot for a "smart speaker" - unless you mounted the SD card read only, you cannot just "turn it off" as you would with an embedded device, or you risk destroying the SD card. I am looking forward for a OpenSource smart speaker, but probably more something based on ESP32 or similar. https://github.com/CarlosDerSeher/snapclient ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Prudent-Artichoke-19 · 2023-11-11 22:49 I'm actually working on a software kinda like this. My goal is to make both iptv channels and radio channels from my media on my media server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 9acca9 · 2023-11-11 22:58 `Mopidy is the best of the planet earth.` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Holiday-Picture6796 · 2023-11-12 02:20 Excellent! maybe you could share the project with us? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Prudent-Artichoke-19 · 2023-11-12 02:29 Oh I definitely will share it as freeware. I'm refactoring it now actually. Along with an upscaling solution using AI. Both mechanics have been a pain in the rear lol.
