Automate Jellyfin/Jellyseer Issues reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mafyuh · 2023-11-11 06:21 I wanted a way to automate when users tell me a video on my Jellyfin server has an issue. After a lot of trial and error with ChatGPT, Bard and I came up with this automation. Requirements * Free and self-hostable * Radarr, Sonarr, Overseerr/Jellyseerr * Automation platform ## How it Works Whenever a user Reports an Issue in Jellyseerr, a webhook is sent to ActivePieces (AP) with the Issue data, this triggers the automation to: 1. Mark as failed in Radarr/Sonarr 2. Delete file 3. Re-search and download file 4. Refresh Jellyfin Libraries 5. Resolve the original Jellyseerr issue with comment There is also an optional feature to approve or deny the automation via email links. Works across Radarr and Sonarr, as the issue reported can be either Movie or TV show. The only caveat is if the issue is an entire Season, it just resolves the issue and leaves a comment to submit issues individually per episode. Here is a high level overview: 1. **Jellyseer Issue Reported** * Create webhook in Jellyseerr to send data to AP 1. **(Optional) Create Approval Links** * Send email with approve/deny links 1. **(Optional) Wait for Approval** * Pause automation for manual approval 1. **Radarr/Sonarr Branch** * Check if Movie or TV Show 1. **Radarr Steps** * Mark as failed * Delete file * Re-search * Refresh Jellyfin * Resolve Jellyseerr issue 1. **Sonarr Steps** * Same as above It works great on my setup of Jellyfin, Jellyseerr, Radarr and Sonarr. Only changes needed would be URL Base and api key There is just too much code for a reddit post. What kind of problems are you finding with files?!? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mafyuh · 2023-11-11 06:40 lmao tbh when i first started I ran Tdarr on a bunch of files not really knowing anything and then stupidly deleted the install for tdarr so lost what files were affected. I converted to who knows what codec and I have alot of media so it just got lost. this is more just for me to have some automation experience, still relatively new to this ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sintheticgaming · 2023-11-11 10:20 This is pretty cool but then again it’s so rare that a media file has issues haha this is so overkill and I love it 🤣💙 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Akujinnoninjin · 2023-11-11 10:37 I actually have a use for this - I had a media drive start failing on me, and there's a bunch of partially corrupted files scattered through what I pulled off. I had been toying with throwing together a kodi add-on to trigger a process like yours - something I could bind to a hotkey or remote button, to easily flag the video while playing. Make it as trivial as possible for my "end users" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mafyuh · 2023-11-11 17:06 Hell yeah, as long as 1 person finds it useful it was worth the post. The only other use case I really found for this is the occasional time Sonarr/Radarr DOESNT automatically upgrade a movie from cam to webrip when a movie releases digitally, like five nights at Freddy's and a few other times I've noticed it didn't automatically upgrade ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gaming09 · 2023-11-11 20:03 I auto recode to h265 sometimes it messes up a file, this is super cool
