I need to know if it's possible to automatically upload/download files
from my Google drive or drop box to my Linux server.

Rclone sync/copy with a cron job would do this with ease.

Optionally he could mount the google drive directly with something
like rclone

Yes, that's true - I initially presumed that OP wanted a backup option
(that's why I only mentioned copy/sync), but reading it again there's
nothing to suggest that.

For dropbox you can just install the client i guess.
