Has anyone had success running SABnzbd through GlueTUN VPN?

I am trying to set up a SABnzbd container on my Synology NAS that runs
through a VPN, in this case GlueTUN.

I build them both from a docker compose file, and can successfully
connect to SABnzbd WebUI, but when I do the download test to a Usenet
server over SSL, the test fails with “Errno 99 Address not available
Check for internet or DNS problems”.

I created a standalone SABnzbd container on the NAS that did not run
through GlueTUN and the download test was successful.

I have also run SABnzbd locally through the same VPN provider I relay
to GlueTUN and the download test was successful.

I am only getting this error when the SABnzbd container is running
through the GlueTUN VPN.

I do not have the Synology firewall active.

Also, I know you don’t need a VPN with Usenet since it’s over SSL, but
I still want to get this working for my own knowledge.

Any help is appreciated!

Is gluetun setup with

    cap_add:
      - NET_ADMIN
    network_mode: bridge

the port for SABnzbd's ui opened on gluetun not SABnzbd's container

and
    network_mode: "service:gluetun"
on SABnzbd?
