Seeking Guidance on Self-Hosting ChatGPT 4 for Office Use reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- youmeiknow 路 2023-11-07 19:47 Hey there, fellow AI enthusiasts! I'm considering subscribing to ChatGPT 4 to boost my office productivity, but I've hit a roadblock. My company blocks the OpenAI domain, so I'm exploring the idea of self-hosting and connecting from my office to my home for using the ChatGPT server. 馃彚馃彔 If this makes sense to anyone, could you please share some insights on how to achieve this? Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated! 馃 #ChatGPT4 #SelfHosting #ProductivityHacks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- adamshand 路 2023-11-07 20:29 You can't selfhost host GPT, but you can purchase API access and selfhost a web interface to ChatGPT. There may be better options these days, but the ones I've used are: - https://github.com/mckaywrigley/chatbot-ui - https://www.prompta.dev/ Be aware that what you are doing may be construed as circumventing your companies IT policies and could have professional repercussions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legitimate_Farm_3095 路 2023-11-07 20:29 did you get the ok from work/it dept to connect to your home network from work? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- youmeiknow 路 2023-11-07 20:41 I didn't do that; I'm not sure if it's necessary since the websites I host are encrypted, right? I've been using the Nabucasa URL from my work laptop for a while now, and it seems like you're trying to alert me to something. Am I overlooking an important detail? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu 路 2023-11-07 20:42 You cannot self host ChatGPT 4 because the chatgpt 4 model is not open source. Unlike the chatgpt 3 model which was the basis for Alpaca, or other, comparable models, like Mistral 7b Orca. You can use these models, also programmatically with GPT4All. Unfortunately last time I checked GPT4All didn't support GPU inference so it was fairly slow, but I am sure there are tools to self host it, i.e. Oobabooga aims to be a web GUI for various freely availabe LLM's. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zarlo5899 路 2023-11-07 20:58 > 'm not sure if it's necessary since the websites I host are encrypted this is not the issue, its the data you might be sending to a remote server this it like why they block it in the first place ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Simon-RedditAccount 路 2023-11-07 21:07 >Am I overlooking an important detail? * Breaking work rules or sometimes laws * potentially opening a hole into your employer's network.
