Self hosted file checksum generator with a WebUI? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NWSpitfire · 2023-11-06 21:31 Hi all, I’m looking for a file checksum generator that I can access through a webUI, something that outputs an MD5 or SHA256 checksum for the uploaded file? I have files I need to check the integrity of during transfers over the internet (via email etc) or USB. I currently use RapidCRC to generate checksums on my NAS’s however whenever I move the files it fails the checksum (because the paths don’t match, no use for checking on other computers) - (I could be doing something wrong though lol). Are there any web hosted tools that will create checksums based on the file only without using the path? Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thomasdarko · 2023-11-06 21:55 Maybe [this](https://noted.lol/it-tools/). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- esturniolo · 2023-11-06 23:19 [Cyberchef](https://cyberchef.org/) is exactly what you need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- virtualadept · 2023-11-06 23:29 Cyberchef - [https://gchq.github.io/CyberChef/](https://gchq.github.io/CyberChef/) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zoredache · 2023-11-07 00:23 > whenever I move the files it fails the checksum Wut? A per-file checksum shouldn't change just by moving it around. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- preclowski · 2023-11-07 00:29 Its most stupid thing to make it via webui because you need to upload whole file first. Do this locally on your pc.
