Point invidious to a VPN tunnel? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LFS2y6eSkmsbSX · 2023-11-06 14:07 I've got an openvpn running at 192.168.x.yyy:8888. Any idea how I can point invidious to go through it? I looked at the docs and didn't see anything. I also saw [this thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/selfhosted /comments/16psx4p/invidious_through_docker_vpn_gluetun/) from a month ago, but i've got my vpn running on a different machine as invidious so I don't think I can have them as part of the same docker network. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- autogyrophilia · 2023-11-06 14:20 You need to either setup a VPN gateway to that server in it's network, or employ policy routing. Im not sure of what you are trying to accomplish. It is key when asking for information to declare what it's your end objective. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RedFive1976 · 2023-11-06 15:22 If invidious is already accessible to devices inside your network (phones, laptops, etc.), then you're already halfway there. All you need to do is make sure that traffic from your OpenVPN tunnel can route onto the main LAN. You just need a route on your VPN gateway that allows 2-way traffic to and from the LAN. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xxlibertyordeathxx · 2023-11-06 16:14 The thread you linked (my post) was about running invidious through for example nordvpn to hide my IP from YouTube not about remotely connecting to invidious which is what, I believe, you are trying to accomplish. You would have to change you openvpn config to route whatever subnet invidious is on or maybe let your invidious port through your firewall as it may be blocked currently.
