SteamCMD reverse proxy for multiple dedicated servers reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CiroGarcia · 2023-11-06 12:29 I have a home server where I plan to host multiple game servers. I want to allow steam to use the 27016 to find all the servers, but that means I have to discern the game servers by IP, and I can't do that. What I can however, is set up different subdomains, which all point to the same IP. I have Nginx Proxy Manager to handle HTTP reverse proxy connections based on the hostname, and for MKinecraft servers I can use Bungeecord or Velocity. Is there a similar solution for SteamCMD games? TL;DR: How can I setup a reverse proxy for SteamCMD games so that all games can be discovered but then proxied to their own port when connecting? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-11-06 13:04 UDP ha no concept of a hostname, you can't reverse proxy a single IP to multiple UDP backends, you can only proxy multiple ports to different end ports. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chandz05 · 2023-11-06 13:49 Yeah what the other poster said. I tried to do the same thing with my game servers and unfortunately, it's just not possible with UDP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- harry8326 · 2023-11-06 20:59 You cant do that, each steam server needs its own external IP to access steam services in both directions.
