You can not bind domain names to Ports, you can just bind them to ip addresses. For portforwarding you would need a reverseproxy. Since zerotier is basically port forwarding id say use a reverseproxy. I could be wrong tho and would love to be corrected by someone who uses zt ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-06 01:49 What a fucking mess that text is... but i will just assume you are using `192.168.1.100:8096`inside your LAN and that works, yes? Now what do you want to do with a DDNS? A DDNS would map your public (probably dynamic) IP that is provided by your ISP to a easy to remember hostname, like `example.duckdns.org`. But that alone doesnt change anything in your current setup. What is your goal? Do you want to access your Homer instance, or Jellyin, from the public internet? Or from your Zerotier clients? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-06 01:50 `PEBCAK` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No_Dragonfruit_5882 · 2023-11-06 01:52 The usual layer 8 you say? Isnt that the case for the most issues? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-06 01:59 Summary of ~70% of this sub. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No_Dragonfruit_5882 · 2023-11-06 02:20 True. But luckily there are 3-4 people that know what they are doing. Ps: still a fan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-11-06 02:23 Hmmm.
