I have found this amazon product (search ToteScan QR, i will add
comment with a link if thats allowed) that uses a qr code to link to
photos of whats in the tote. I really want it stupid simple so anyone
can use it and update it. Is there a self hosted version of this?

Is there an all in one solution that generates a qr code for an album
and then i can make 1:1 album for totes

This literally involves 1x Cut (the URL) and 1x Paste (into the QR
Code generator). I am sure there is even a browser plugin which let's
you do this in one click.

If you think that is too complex, this sounds like an excellent first
programming project for you to pick up. Or make a plugin for immich or
photoprism.
