Alternative to Joplin that is web-based based? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok-Particular-4933 · 2023-11-05 06:41 I was hoping to find an alternative for Joplin since it does not have web interface to access the notes. Any suggestion on tools available for cross platform note-taking app with web interface? If opensource and self-hosted even better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- io-x · 2023-11-05 07:02 nextcloud notes is pretty good but might be overkill if you don't use other nextcloud features. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Affectionate-Fig-805 · 2023-11-05 07:18 I have Joplin sync my notes to all my devices, thus I have no need for a web UI. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anejey · 2023-11-05 09:30 [Trilium](https://github.com/zadam/trilium) maybe? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bender_fut · 2023-11-05 10:15 Also loooking for something similar, with linux client if possible ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TasogareRiiku · 2023-11-05 11:25 Trilium Notes, web based, self-hosted and open-source. It even has a Linux app. You can find it here https://github.com/zadam/trilium ---------------------------------------------------------------------- simpleFr4nk · 2023-11-05 13:48 I personally use [Siyuan](https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan) and it’s based on blocks instead of paragraphs, so the file you write is encoded in json on your server. Siyuan have open source apps or the self hosted option and you can install community plug ins or theme too I use it to store notes about my homelab infrastructure using backlinks to tie all the notes together. It could have more features than Joplin but you can give it a go and choose by yourself! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- adullage · 2023-11-05 21:45 Maybe take a look at my project [flatnotes](https://flatnotes.io). It’s a self-hosted, database-less note taking web app that utilises a flat folder of markdown files for storage. Demo site at [https://demo.flatnotes.io](https://demo.flatnotes.io). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ddidima · 2023-11-06 22:44 IIRC it’s not web based ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ddidima · 2023-11-06 22:46 Try [outline](https://github.com/outline/outline) or [trillium](https://github.com/zadam/trilium) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- simpleFr4nk · 2023-11-07 06:08 If you self host it, you cannot point the app to it so you can only modify the notes from the web, so yes, it’s web based ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok-Particular-4933 · 2023-11-07 06:09 Is there a mobile app for Trilium? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok-Particular-4933 · 2023-11-07 06:11 Ya, it'll be too much since only note is required. I have tried working on Notion. Is it any good, the free version? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok-Particular-4933 · 2023-11-07 06:12 This looks good will try it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok-Particular-4933 · 2023-11-07 06:13 Via Syncthing or storage based sync with cloud providers? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Affectionate-Fig-805 · 2023-11-07 06:54 Yes, via nextcloud. It works pretty well. I always have my notes available whatever device I am using. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anejey · 2023-11-07 08:20 None that I know of, but you can just install the website as an app.
