How to backup Termius local vault? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pooreigner · 2023-11-05 03:38 I am using Termius and want to backup my local vault database, meaning all setup SSH hosts, passwords etc. I know that the data is in Library/Application Support/Termius/\* However, if I backup that whole dir and move it to another computer, the SSH hosts are listed, but the data is empty. How can I copy my config to a new computer without paying a ridiculous fee for such a basic thing? Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TerminalFoo · 2023-11-05 03:59 Why are you using Termius on MacOS? Why not use Terminal or iTerm or one of the many other better terminal apps that don't make you subscribe for basic things? Also, are you sure you copied the correct directory? There is also a Container directory that can have information stored. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pooreigner · 2023-11-05 04:35 Because I like the clean look of Termius and Terminal does not have saved Host-lists with corresponding keys/password, saved port forwarding, jump host support etc etc. Further, I want to share my config between Windows/MacOS. What directory are you referring to? I only copied the \~/Library/Application Support/Termius/\* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TerminalFoo · 2023-11-05 05:54 Terminal does have host lists, keys/passwords, saved port forwarding, jump host support, etc. These are all things that can be configured in a user config file for ssh. And, you can share your configuration between Windows and MacOS because Windows too uses OpenSSH underneath so the same config file can be copied over to Windows. I'm stating all this because I too came across Termius when it first launched, but I ended up getting rid of it when I realized that Termius had no real value. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pooreigner · 2023-11-05 06:19 Yeah of course you can do everything with config files! The whole idea with a GUI is that you don't need to manually write config files. I can't see any container for Termius. Are you sure you are talking about the same application or are you just assuming? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- juanfdo82465 · 2023-11-05 08:28 Get the github education offer it includes termius paid features for free, you just need a edu email and there’s ways to get one even if you don’t have one
