Looking for Pocket Self Hosted option reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SillyLilBear · 2023-11-04 23:01 I've been looking at options, Omnivore seems the most polished, but their self hosted docs are beta. Is this the best option for a Pocket replacement? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- superglue_chute115 · 2023-11-04 23:35 https://alternativeto.net/software/pocket/?platform=self-hosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr_Bel_Arvardan · 2023-11-05 12:01 Using Wallabag for a year or 2. It is acceptable. But the mobile experience is lacking compared to pocket or instapaper. Setup for extensions and mobile apps isn't difficult per se but seems more complicated then it needs to be. The mobile apps haven't been updated in a WHILE. Seems like wallabag just needs a solid update or even a solid 3rd party mobile app and it would check all the boxes but currently it just an acceptable alternative. I have been wanting to try omnivore but I'm waiting for a more complete docker-compose setup to be made available. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rrrmmmrrrmmm · 2023-11-06 09:17 It seems that [Omnivore still has some open issues regarding self hosting](https://github.com/omnivore- app/omnivore/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+self+host). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SillyLilBear · 2023-11-06 09:27 Yeah they say it’s not complete but most of the services are suppose to work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcadianarcadian · 2023-11-06 11:02 Wallabag :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ChrisMillerBooklo · 2023-11-07 07:22 Since I did not find anything, I made this solution myself and am very satisfied with it: New content is transferred to my server via iOS Shortcut App and converted into epubs there. I then read this epubs via e-book reader app, which also allows access and above all the deletion of the read files via WebDAV. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ChrisMillerBooklo · 2023-11-07 07:27 Converts websites, very robust into beautifully readable eBooks: https://github.com/danburzo/percollate Certainly not the best e-book reader app out there, and also outdated, but the only one I have found so far that allows a nice reading experience **and** has the easy option to quickly delete read books from the server: http://kybook-reader.com/
