Grafana for homelab reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TDex96 · 2023-11-04 16:47 Hey guys! I'm a confused a little bit. I want to setup a good monitoring and logging system in my homelab. I have several VMs on a Proxmox host. Dev VM, nginx, haproxy, mysql, galera, k8s, mongo, etc. I saw this Grafana cloud option. Is it worth it? The free plan is it enought for a homelab, or better if i host myself the grafana, loki, prometheus? If yes, do you have a good boilerplate for that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ryantjeh · 2023-11-04 17:07 I made an ansible role to do just this. It will setup a clean new server with: * Grafana * Prometheus * Node\_exporter * Loki * Promtail It's modular so you can decide yourself what you do and do not want to setup. It's only been tested for RHEL based systems tho... I mostly use Almalinux in my homelab. Hook up your vms with telegraf or just regular old SNMP monitoring ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Do_TheEvolution · 2023-11-04 20:06 >I saw this Grafana cloud option. Is it worth it? Why going that way when you can first try local deployment in docker? >If yes, do you have a good boilerplate for that?
