Family Server reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Me_llamo_Jeff_ · 2023-11-04 13:09 Hi, I have a raspberry pi 4 that I want to use as a server for some docker images. Does anyone know of a solution that will create a dashboard of apps for me. (Mealie, Vaultwarden, Home Assistant) with an external link to plex. I also want to be able to have separate logins for different users on it. I can't find anything that has all this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Successful-Drop-8441 · 2023-11-04 13:16 Have you looked at casa os? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Me_llamo_Jeff_ · 2023-11-04 13:32 Can you make additional accounts on it? As far as I can tell, you can only have one account ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tech2but1 · 2023-11-04 13:41 What should this dashboard contain? Just sounds like a local landing page that simply has a link to each service would suffice. As for multiple users, you mean like SSO? Overcomplicated and unnecessary for so few services. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- javijuji · 2023-11-04 14:16 Any of the popular dashboards will do. Homepage, dashy, homarr. I am probably forgetting 90% of them. Personally I use homepage for myself and starbase for friends/family https://github.com/notclickable-jordan/starbase-80 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Droophoria · 2023-11-04 14:42 Homepage (hp) is the choice for me for a dashboard. Be aware that it moved to a new home. If you choose hp, spin up a code-server container alongside it and mount the hp data folder in code-server so you can edit it live, it will make life so much easier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JfreakiinD · 2023-11-04 15:11 Noob here, I am looking for a dashboard as well. Could you elaborate a little bit further on instructions or do you have a instructions source that is noob friendly? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kindly-Fruit3788 · 2023-11-04 15:35 Maybe authentik could be a Solution ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Droophoria · 2023-11-04 15:48 If you'll go to homepages main site, their documentation is very robust and easy to follow with a huge amount of pretty easy to customize examples. Code-server just gives you a fantastic web interface for editing code which you can easily add to your existing compose.yml. Homepages configuration files I believe were settings, services and bookmarks, maybe a few others. These and other important files are populated within the homepage container config folder. You specify a local host folder in your compose.yml for that configuration folder and you also mount that same folder to the code-server container. Sounds complicated but I promise all I did was read their documentation and follow their (homepage and code-server) docker- compose.yml examples. I'd begin with just spinning up the homepage container, looking at their site and edit a few settings til you get a handle on what is going on. Then add the code-server container remembering that when doing so, you need to add the same config volume from homepage. Try first, ask for help if needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JfreakiinD · 2023-11-04 16:03 Awesome thank you so much for the detailed reply! I’ll give it a shot. I really appreciate the advice! I didn’t look at their documentation just yet but I should have started there! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Successful-Drop-8441 · 2023-11-04 16:21 I’ll check when I get back home for certain ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Successful-Drop-8441 · 2023-11-04 20:27 You’re right just the single account to log into casa os UI. I have Portainer running on casa which can have multiple users if that is any use? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fishamatician · 2023-11-04 22:20 I've been trying to write a landing page today using my broken python and html knowledge, I gave up and started to look for media solutions I could run on a pi or dell 5070 only to find this sub and all the dashboards, widgets, docker things that are available. It's been a real rabbit hole and I'm loving it. I'm looking at dashy as it looks nice and seems to support all kinds of widgets etc. I'm aiming for a calendar, reminders, apps, screen I can set as the default home page on everyone's browser so us and the kids always know what's going on and can access all our media. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- azukaar · 2023-11-04 23:06 Heya, I am the developer of Cosmos. It gives you different logins (if you want to protect your apps with the cosmos built-in web-auth too) and each users have their dashboard. It comes with a lot of other stuff too :) https://github.com/azukaar/Cosmos-Server/
