Mini PC with 3x 2,5in slot? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ZeltTent · 2023-11-03 22:53 Hi all, pretty much the title. I am searching to build a little Nas with 3 SSDs. I only found mini PCs with max. 2x 2,5inch slots, which PC (Case) is the smallest while having space for more? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sk1nT7 · 2023-11-03 23:16 HM90 NUC by Minisforum can fit two 2.5" disks as well as an additional NVME SSD onboard. Why do you want to have three SSDs specifically? If you need more disks and likely storage space, you'd typically opt for 3.5" drives and likely end up with a self-built mini ATX or plain Synology NAS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- p_235615 · 2023-11-04 06:08 Why use 2,5" SSDs ? You can get a mini PC, get a 4x NVMe slot PCIe card and populate it with up to 4 NVMe drives. Today when NVMe and 2.5" SSD cost basically the same, there is no reason to go with SSDs unless you already have them... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ZeltTent · 2023-11-04 11:04 Why use them? Because I already own them ---------------------------------------------------------------------- p_235615 · 2023-11-04 13:23 then get a pcie or m.2 sata expansion card, for example: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/silverstone-turns-one-m2-slot-into- five-sata-ports-ecs07-adapter ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunDeckHermit · 2023-11-04 13:27 SSDs can be tucked away in the void. Just find a case and stuff it all in there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-11-06 18:56 ## Post Removed Hey, ZeltTent!
