I'm trying to build/ buy a NAS to:

store files

store pictures

watch YouTube

have an e-book repository

listen to music

self hosting Chat-GPT

however I can't decide on what hardware I need because I'd also like
to run a plex server for in-home use. I'm not sure if I need something
like a NUC as well as a synology NAS or if I can run everything on
just the NAS. Help would be appreciated. If you need me to further
clarify something or I posted this completely incorrectly please let
me know.

Try subs like /r/Homelab /r/HomeServer /r/BuildaPC etc that actually
cover hardware, this is here is about selfhosting software services.
