I made a pocketbase dashboard for easier deployment. reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-11-02 13:55 I've developed a PocketBase Dashboard enabling management of multiple PocketBase instances, each in its Docker container. Check it out here: [PocketBase Dashboard](https://github.com/lazarcloud/pocketbase- dashboard). The project is in early stages, so feedback is highly valued. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pinkSh4d0w · 2023-11-02 15:22 Could you add screenshots to README? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-11-02 15:36 I don't understand the use case. You say to manage Pocketbase instances. Manage how? Pocketbase has it's own UI (https://pocketbase.io/demo/) and items on your roadmap are already there API, User Mangement and Auth providers from Apple to Spotify to OpenID. What should we be looking forward to your project? Could you also maybe add some screenshots on the repo? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-11-02 15:58 I'll do it soon ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-11-02 16:00 Let's say you want to host 5 different instances of pocketbase. With this dashboard you can simply create a new instance with the press of a button, without having to manually set everything up. I find this useful for a person that has a lot of small-scale projects and wants to save some time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-11-02 16:06 Done! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pinkSh4d0w · 2023-11-02 19:27 I've checked. I'm a lover of Pocketbase, and it looked promising to me. You should check out Pockethost to get inspired (if you want to continue with the development). It can be good to have an option to get database backups. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-11-02 19:38 Thank you for the feedback. I'll check it out! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jonmacabre · 2023-11-15 19:06 Looks fun, how's the url management? Does it use docker containers? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ToeChemical6202 · 2023-12-21 01:11 I was able to run it locally on my Macbook by running the 2 missing steps. 1. create the second network: `docker network create lazar-network` 2. Create the pocketbase it uses to build each instance from: `docker build . -t monsieurlazar/pocketbase` But now every time I try to add a new instance I get an error: `Error response from daemon: Mounts denied:` `The path /home/pocketbase/projects/7urDc4Xs is not shared from the host and is not known to Docker.` I added my local path to a temp directory on my computer and added this to the docker file: `- /Users/MyUserName/tmp/pocketbase:/home/pocketbase` I also added this directory to docker desktop under resource/file sharing section. On newer mac the /home directory is read-only that is why I used my user directory. What am I missing to make it work? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-12-21 05:01 You should check the updated guides on the website (pocketbase.lazar.lol) or the GitHub read me. The image used for pocketbase is built using actions on the repository so you can skip that step. If you encounter any further issues I could try to fix any bugs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MonsieurLazar · 2023-12-21 10:31 There's an orchestrator container and multiple pocketbase containers. The orchestrator behaves like a reverse proxy that forwards you to the other containers.
