Getting 502 from selfhosted applications via caddy reverse proxy reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- darkalimdor18 ยท 2023-11-02 12:25 hello everyone, i just want to ask everyone's take on my error wherein i am getting 502 responses from my self hosted website application when i access them, but when i refresh it after a couple of seconds, it now does load. so i have a trillium notebook and a filebrowser self hosted on my vps server via docker. i then have caddy as a reverse proxy to handle the requests to those applications. so when i visit trillium\[dot\]mydomain\[dot\]com, i go to my trillium notebook and when i visit filebrowser\[dot\]mydomain\[dot\]com, i go to my filebrowser application so there are times that my website applications suddenly just doesnt load and i get a 502 error. i checked my vps and my vps is up and running with no issues. i also have checked if caddy is running properly in the logs and i do not see any errors upon googling i did not find and compelling reasons but one reason im suspecting is that i have 1gb of swap memory set in my vps so im thinking that the applications hosted in docker are being put into swap memory since i do not access them very frequently, so when i access them some time in the future, the vps needs to load the application from swap memory instead of directly loading it from RAM, which causes the application to return 502 first and then when refreshing after a few seconds, the application loads... is this possible?
