Any self hosted dashboard for increasing productivity? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- psbankar · 2023-11-01 17:47 I am a recent member of multi-monitor gang and I won't lie it doubled my productivity. But I have one more small screen which is not that useful. So I am looking for a selfhosted software or even an android app that I can put up on the screen. My requirements are having calendar, to-do list, notes, etc all at a glance. I use Google workspace for college so a self hosted software which can pull data from Google would be best(I know it's an irony) but a separate. For now the only solution I have is creating a custom dashboard using home assistant. Maybe magic mirror software would work too but I haven't tried it yet. Can anyone suggest a better alternative? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-11-01 18:01 I like taiga.io. I'm not familiar with google products so I can't tell you if there is a plugin for google workspaces and how that would look like. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- protocolnebula · 2023-11-01 18:27 Taiga.io Gitlab selfhosted Restyaboard ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ANDROID_16 · 2023-11-01 21:24 I prefer Wekan for a kanban board. As for notes, I'm just adding notes to individual cards as needed. Everything I do is related to a card so it works well ---------------------------------------------------------------------- r_hcaz · 2023-11-01 21:25 I run my own gitea instance and made a project for my life. I make use of the milestones isssues and projects there. It’s not ideal but works fairly well ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DavidChenware · 2023-11-01 22:05 Is there a reason you cannot just use a window manager or tiler for this? Something like FancyZones. Even snap to corner functionality would suffice, given the small monitor has enough resolution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RunOrBike · 2023-11-01 22:11 Let me start by saying that your requirements are not really clear to me. What are your expectations for each of these 3 components? I think you’d like to have a) a planning tool (calendar) plus b) a todo list and c) an information archive, possibly full text searchable for when you need to look up some kind of information. Usually, calendar programs allow fulltext search. So not knowing more details about your requirements: Why not use a calendar for notes and todos, too? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- psbankar · 2023-11-01 22:39 Yes that's what I'm doing currently but that is too cumbersome and not well managed. A single page with all important information would make it easier to look at the data ---------------------------------------------------------------------- oAhT_iAs · 2023-11-02 01:20 I use nextcloud dashboard to have a glance at calendar, notes and to- do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MegaVolti · 2023-11-02 10:34 This. NC is actually perfect for this, assuming you are hosting it already. Not a calendar but the Vikunja overview is also quite useful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mbseid · 2023-11-02 11:05 I built a product to help me with work. It's called success and is built to be self hosted. https://github.com/mbseid/success As an Engineering Manager there is a lot to keep track of, so this was built out of need. I use it everyday at work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- r_hcaz · 2023-11-02 12:08 This looks really cool from the description, is there any screenshots of what it looks like? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mbseid · 2023-11-02 15:05 Sure. I just added one to the Github Repo. *disclaimer: I'm not a designer, I'm an ML Engineer.* https://github.com/mbseid/success/blob/main/success.png ---------------------------------------------------------------------- r_hcaz · 2023-11-03 21:07 Honestly looks really good mate
