Can I build blog pages with Hugo on local PC and upload it to AWS S3 bucket? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0dayguy · 2023-11-01 13:58 Im making static blog, and my question is in the title. Could I do it like that? Also, maybe you have some recommendation for me? What not to do and if there is better way of hosting Hugo blog? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dazchad · 2023-11-01 14:26 > Can I build blog pages with Hugo on local PC and upload it to AWS S3 bucket? Yes > Also, maybe you have some recommendation for me? What not to do and if there is better way of hosting Hugo blog? There's nothing much. S3 is quite dependable. I'd say that if you hit any amount of substantial traffic, it might be worth looking into putting it behind a CDN, but otherwise it should work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zabouth1 · 2023-11-01 15:00 You could also host it on GitHub pages. All you need to do is put your static files in a folder called docs in your repo and enable pages on github. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0dayguy · 2023-11-01 15:44 CDNs like Cloudflare for example, also have its price. Its free till particular amount of traffic, pretty much like on S3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0dayguy · 2023-11-01 15:48 thats not bad idea. Thanks :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- the_bowl_of_petunias · 2023-11-01 19:51 I build my personal portfolio and blog using Hugo and then host it on github. Pretty good so far! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0dayguy · 2023-11-01 21:33 is there any benefits hosting it on github instead of AWS? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- the_bowl_of_petunias · 2023-11-01 21:59 Well idk if aws is free I am assuming it’s not but also you just commit your change and they reflect almost instantly ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0dayguy · 2023-11-02 11:46 thanks. Ill think Ill go with AWS, since Ill get experience with AWS, why not :D
