Caddy proxy API help please

Greetings all,

I am looking for some help with Caddy - specifically to
add/list/delete reverse proxy endpoints via API call.  I have looked
at all the getting started guides in the Caddy documentation portal
but could not find a good example on how to do this via API.

***Backstory***:

I am working on some Gitlab automation that automatically spins up a
Podman pod and set of containers (NGinx + PGSQL) on my test server.
The workflow creates a pod based on the branch name, assigns some
random front-end ports (for backend 80/443), and then deploys the
containers inside the pod.  Once the pod is created, I manually add a
reverse-proxy entry to the Caddyfile that points a URL to a back-end
port.  While I can do this manually via the Caddyfile, I would like to
have this done via API to complete the automation process.

***My Caddyfile example:***

    branch-001.testlab.local {
        reverse_proxy localhost:9001
    }
    branch-002.testlab.local {
        reverse_proxy localhost:9002
    }
    branch-003.testlab.local {
        reverse_proxy localhost:9003
    }

Does anyone have a snippet of code to add, list, or remove reverse
proxy endpoints vi API for caddy?

If caddy is not the best choice, what other tools exist .  I have read
about traefik and NGinx Proxy Manager but have not started working
with them yet.
