Software Stack for self hosted & coded applications reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- corisian · 2023-10-31 21:48 Hi, Not sure if this fits here, it seems like most things are about hosting existing applications. I want to implement a simple todo application similar to what [todo.txt-cli](https://github.com/todotxt/todo.txt-cli) does. My minimal initial requirements are: * Have read access on my phone * Ability to work offline and synchronize later (on my computer) Ideally in the future there is some simple interface to also add/remove things from my phone. I am struggling to figure out a good "Software Stack" as I've never done anything similar or seem to find similar solutions online. I do have a raspberry pi which I'm planning on exposing with a cloudflare tunnel. Having some kind of webinterface seems reasonable for my phone to simply read it on the browser in plain text. Are there existing approaches which could be handled nicely for the other 2 or would this need to be handled at the application level? Especially resolving potential conflicts. I would appreciate any help or pointers to some similar projects. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ben_bliksem · 2023-10-31 22:20 c# + blazor I mean anything really but if I had to do it today, that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thomasbuchinger · 2023-11-01 01:36 Can you be more specific on what kind of advice you're looking for? If you just want a ToDo-App, there are a lot of choices and I would be surpirised if none of them fit your needs. If you want to code the ToDo-App yourself, you first start with a language/framework yu already know and use whatever is popular in that ecosystem. Once the App is done you can expose it like any 3rd party app ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-11-01 03:55 if you want to make a todo app yourself, r/Webdev otherwise, I recommend maybe a CalDav server like Radicale. It supports both calendars and tasks but nothing is stopping you from just using tasks. It doesn't have a web interface to manage tasks but you should be able to add it as a CalDav server on your device and use your devices built-in apps. At least that's what I did. I have an iOS device. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- corisian · 2023-11-01 05:56 I'm set on implementing it myself. I guess, the advice I'm looking for is the kind of: "Look into this community, they often do such small projects" "Look into Samba, it fits your needs like...." "Any kind of versioning/merge conflicts you'll have to fix by hand. Just store the file on the pi and use a..."
