Youtube Frontends via Portainer reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- leonhart83 · 2023-10-29 23:08 Does anyone have an app template list for portainer that can install either Invidious or Piped. I can appreciate that most guides use docker compose files and I really should spend the time to learn it fully to be able to help myself. If anyone feels like they could help a brother out on some guides and/or templates that they have had success using with portainer I would be forever grateful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- haqbar · 2023-10-29 23:17 Just copy the docker compose file into portioned? It’s what portainer calls “stacks”, same thing. Also an alternative is to just spin up the docker compose directly on the host and portainer will pick it up, it just can’t be directly managed from portainer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-29 23:18 Plenty of guides exist on how to use Portainer to deploy a compose file. You can also ask in /r/Portainer for help i guess. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DarkKnyt · 2023-10-29 23:32 I just did viewtube. Very easy, performance is good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- leonhart83 · 2023-10-29 23:42 Which image did you use? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DarkKnyt · 2023-10-29 23:49 Here's my docker-compose.yml other than adding viewtube-seecure I think it's the default. ``` version: '3' services: viewtube: restart: unless-stopped # Or use mauriceo/viewtube:dev for the development version image: mauriceo/viewtube:latest # ViewTube will not start until the database and redis are ready depends_on: - viewtube-mongodb - viewtube-redis # Make sure all services are in the same network networks: - viewtube volumes: # This will map ViewTube's data directory to the local folder ./data/viewtube/ - ./data/viewtube:/data environment: - VIEWTUBE_DATABASE_HOST=viewtube-mongodb - VIEWTUBE_REDIS_HOST=viewtube-redis - VIEWTUBE_SECURE=false ports: - 8066:8066 viewtube-mongodb: restart: unless-stopped image: mongo:5 networks: - viewtube volumes: - ./data/db:/data/db viewtube-redis: restart: unless-stopped image: redis:7 networks: - viewtube volumes: - ./data/redis:/data networks: viewtube: ``` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-10-30 01:53 [removed] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- leonhart83 · 2023-10-31 23:07 thanks I have it working. The problem I have is it doesn't seem to work with IOS devices. I click the video to play and then it either doesn't play or the video just disappears. Is there any known issues with IOS? I will probably have to start investigating my other apps (Adguard etc)
