Worm-Hole v0.1.1 reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-29 10:07 [https://github.com/NOXCIS/Worm-Hole](https://github.com/NOXCIS/Worm- Hole) ### [What Is Worm-Hole?](https://github.com/NOXCIS/Worm-Hole#what-is- worm-hole) Worm-Hole is a fully automated Docker Based **intranet deployment** that allows users to host web other applications on their existing server and be able to securely connect to said web applications without exposing them to the open internet. This is done by utilizing the **WireGuard protocol** in conjunction with **Docker Networks and Containers**. Hence applications hosted behind the worm-hole private network *need not expose any ports* and can only be accessed via a *WireGuard* connection already registered to to an existing server interface on the deployed worm-hole instance. Secure by Design, the WireGuard Dashboard & other services are only accessible on first deployment via the **master configuration** that is generated at install and encrypted after being outputted to the console. Wormhole also acts as a ISP DNS query logging bypass. Wormhole by default is configured to have minimal logging. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jack3308 · 2023-10-29 12:55 Very interesting. Currently using tailscale for something similar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RandomVanCityUser · 2023-10-29 17:31 Love the idea! Suggestion: choose another name perhaps? `wormhole` is often used to refer to the `magic wormhole` tool: https://github.com/magic-wormhole/magic-wormhole https://wormhole.app/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-29 17:41 Any suggestions? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RandomVanCityUser · 2023-10-29 18:15 Was gonna say `Wirehole`, but looks like that's already a project. Other ideas: IntraGuard, GuardDock, or... ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-29 19:57 What about NexusGuard ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ImprovedJesus · 2023-10-29 19:57 Call it _magichole_ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-29 20:05 At this point why not all I got are WireCenturion WireSentinel or Centurion-Gurad or Network-Centurion ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Old-Operation-838 · 2023-10-29 22:05 You should give credit to the owner of Channels, and stop publishing its source code under MIT license. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-30 10:10 1.Go Read the ReadME 2. dzionek didn't License [Channels](https://github.com/dzionek/channels) 3. I've made a shitton of changes to channels not in his repo as with WG- Dashboard. 4. You didn't read any of that either did you? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RandomVanCityUser · 2023-10-30 16:36 I like that! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-10-30 22:00 WireGate ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RandomVanCityUser · 2023-10-31 05:09 Oooh I think you have a winner here. Make it `Wiregate`, kinda like Watergate ;-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordinary_Employer_39 · 2023-12-06 07:33 Congrats 👏 on naming the project ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RandomVanCityUser · 2023-12-06 17:46 Neat, I'll add "product namer" to my list of resume skills 😂
