Chrome Download manager vs sftp reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blackops12345678910 · 2023-10-26 17:15 I am investigating which option is best for downloading large files (50gb*). Seems like chrome is not fault tolerant as if it encounters a network error, the download will flick to failed which then requires you to manually resume it. Of course that is a problem when your running the download overnight Winscp seems to have an option to automatically reconnect if a disconnect occurs which seems to be a more fault tolerant approach Any advice would be appreciated as to the best method ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-26 17:51 aria2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blackops12345678910 · 2023-10-26 17:55 Added a note in the original post. Command line isn’t going to be friendly tho for end users ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-26 19:41 https://github.com/mayswind/AriaNg and pyloadng is also a good option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungry_Acanthaceae78 · 2023-11-02 00:57 have an [sftp server](https://www.sysax.com/server/?rfrr=adbv4baa) that is reliable especially in terms of copying and moving larger file sizes, sftp is better too if you are transferring sensitive data as it ensures data security and integrity with ssh key packets integrated to the application
