Self-hosted Readly/Magazine Server?

I’m fairly sure there’s nothing out there like this, but worth asking.
I have some magazines I grab monthly from LL as PDF files and there’s
not really a smooth or graceful way to get them available to read on
my iPad.

So far I have had to set up Nextcloud and access them that way, but I
wondered if there was anything out there that was a bit like Readly
with a nice web interface that would allow me to browse, read and
download the files. Nextcloud is …ok but it lacks the ability to
‘present’ the files in a nice way.

commenting just so i can follow the post.  I get a bunch of cooking
magazines this way and I would love an efficient way of presenting and
reading them

Yeah I also use it. It is great software. Although i use it with manga
and comics mainly.

I'm not sure if its just me, but I've always struggled with this in
the past. Its not the most clear of things to set up & then it just
seems really volatile; I've gone to check my library and found the
whole thing to have corrupted more than once.

I use calibre-web and what I chose to do is make the author the
magazine name and the title the date of the issue of the magazine.
This way I can pull all magazines by Author and get all issues of a
particular magazine.  I also made a separate library only for
magazines so it doesnt get cluttered up by books.

Personally, I have had a blast using Kavita. All of my MagPi PDFs and
books one one server and a great interface is great, especially
sharing with family and friends

Do you have some sort of automated import for this? Or do you manually
process all your magazines?
