YouTube client similar to a podcast client - Does it exist? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rotten777 · 2023-10-24 13:20 Hey guys/gals/bots! I'm trying to find a self hosted app that would function like a podcast client does... e.g. it has a list of channels subscribed to, sees a new release, downloads it, and prunes stuff that's beyond "X" days old. What I'm trying to solve is using my exported YouTube subscriptions CSV to do the same. So when I get home from work, all the new videos are already downloaded and can be viewed (then pruned) without streaming. Trying to search for something like this is bringing up a ton of stuff that is tangentially related at best. Thanks in advance for any help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-24 13:23 Search for youtube in the awesome-selfhosted list from the sidebar, and simply search youtube in this entire subreddit, easy to find a few things to try. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rotten777 · 2023-10-24 13:27 I've seen a ton of stuff which grabs entire channels, grabs specific videos, etc. but nothing that grabs the latest "X" videos, and automatically deletes stuff that is watched or beyond a certain age. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-24 13:30 Okay... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jusgivmeasec · 2023-10-27 06:58 I think that Tubearchivist will delete watched. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rotten777 · 2023-10-27 11:48 Good to know I'll check that one out. Thanks!
