Cloud File sharing with a timed password reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Youhavemail227 · 2023-10-21 17:05 Hi I apologize if Im out of my depth because I am just starting to learn about self hosting. I am looking for a cloud service, nextcloud seems good but im not sure considering this sub is saying it has performance issues. I want know if I could make it so that a password is always required before the file can be accessed or a way to revoke access after a certain time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ThePixlPirate · 2023-10-21 18:09 I’ve been using file browser for this for years ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-21 19:36 You can use Nextcloud for this, share up to a certain date, with or without password. With "Flows" you can even delete the file after X days. If you just need a simple selfhosted WeTransfer replacement, checkout psitransfer. Very minimal, but sufficient for a lot of of use cases. https://github.com/psi-4ward/psitransfer ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Youhavemail227 · 2023-10-22 03:53 Thanks for the info will consider ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xkcd__386 · 2023-10-22 05:03 use `filebrowser` and manually revoke access when you want or use `transfer.sh` -- the URL itself is randomised, so it kinda sorta "if you squint" acts like a password, and it autodeletes after a set time (which you can configure)
