Ubuntu is Debian-based and it widely recommended as a good place to start for Linux. It is several flavors that differ mainly by the look and feel, the "desktop environment" so I'd suggest picking among those. I doubt Adobe programs can run, but there's a WINE that tries to allow stuff like that. You could check their list of programs to hear from people who have tried. It's usually a better approach to see what open source, native Linux software can accomplish the same tasks. Today, so much is done through websites, that using Linux isn't much harder than Windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- msanangelo · 2023-10-21 13:53 wrong sub, try r/FindMeALinuxDistro. generally speaking, adobe apps and linux don't mix unless it's a web app. don't waste you time trying. same for ms office. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GolemancerVekk · 2023-10-21 14:01 [Mint Linux](https://linuxmint.com/download_all.php) is often recommended as an excellent beginner distribution. It's based on Ubuntu, which in turn is based on Debian, so it should feel familiar. Try the Cinnamon version, it's the most polished. (The "Edge" version is only needed if the regular Cinnamon won't boot on your hardware.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-10-21 15:47 ## Post Removed Hey, Homelanderr420!
