Remote Cloud office for 7 team members reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CombinationTall8213 · 2023-10-20 21:57 Can anyone recommend a cloud hosting solution for 7 designers working on Macs and primarily sharing Illustrator and Photoshop files? We would need to have storage as a big part of this. I don't know where to start. We're on Synology but it has been cumbersome for our needs and we want to be able to do this without hardware if possible to be more nimble. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NikStalwart · 2023-10-20 22:18 Need more info. How much storage? Do you need apps? What apps do you need? Can you just pay Adobe for Cloud Drive? Keep in mind that when you get into multiple-TB storage, cloud quickly outpaces local hardware. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GolemancerVekk · 2023-10-20 22:33 You'd be better off asking in /r/sysadmin. This sub deals mainly with on-premise DIY solutions and you say you don't want to deal with local machines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-20 22:54 Only storage? If so, how much storage? You can send me a chat if you like. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dopey0121 · 2023-10-20 23:14 Lucidlink will be your friend here. Check them out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CyberHouseChicago · 2023-10-21 02:14 Remote solutions are usually windows based I don’t think apple sells their software for vms , I could be don’t tho ---------------------------------------------------------------------- athornfam2 · 2023-10-21 02:27 No reason to ask. They are already paying for the Adobe cloud suite one would presume. Just purchase the storage they have and keep it within the environment. When they grow large enough hire a consultant for a small project/block time for a proper solution. Don't DIY it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jkirkcaldy · 2023-10-21 09:28 Wrong sub really. You’re after things that are specifically not self hosted. The easiest solution is to pay adobe more money for their cloud storage. Other solutions would include looking into SharePoint/onedrive/dropbox etc. Then there are cheaper solutions such as looking into hosted Nextcloud/seafile. Self hosted seafile is what we went for at work for video files. In the end, you can’t beat on prem for storage density and cost. But we had a 48bay server spare that we are using for storage so only needed to buy drives. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redoubledit · 2023-10-21 12:57 If you have them on Creative Cloud Subscription, they have 1 TB of storage included. Why not use this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- isThisRight-- · 2023-10-21 15:50 Why not use Tailscale on each endpoint and let them mount the synology drive via SMB?
