Serber hardware suggestion? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-18 22:25 I'm looking for server hardware suggestions. Can anyone help please? Must be able to deliver to Ireland. Shallow server. To fit in wall mounted coms rack. 6 drive bays. 2 additional NVME slots. 64gb RAM minimum. 6 core CPU minimum. MUST have a GPU. Runs quiet. If possible. runs Proxmox. must have USB 2, USB 3 and at least 2 USB c ports. Preferably supports or can be upgraded to support two 10gb sfp plus. Must support hardware raid. Am I just asking for two much in one server here? If so, if you were to go for a server and a DAS for storage, what would you pick? Given my space restrictions. But I don't mind spending some money. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-18 22:35 How shallow in cm? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-19 03:50 Depth is 55cm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-19 06:24 Fyi this sub is about software. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Horror-Show-3774 · 2023-10-19 06:45 If you're okay with second hand you can take a look at https://www.bargainhardware.co.uk/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-19 07:44 If you have another sub that might be better able to answer my question, I would be happy to direct it there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-19 07:48 Look at the sidebar? Use the search? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-19 07:51 It took you as long to write that as it would have to make a suggestion. Feel better about yourself? Have a great day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-19 08:02 And it would have taken neither of us any time at all if you had simply looked at this sub before posting :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-19 08:06 So no hardware suggestions then? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-19 08:09 I suggested you the sidebar, or simple reddit search. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrispyBegs · 2023-10-19 11:44 maybe https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jasondaigo · 2023-10-19 13:49 Are you for real ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phein4242 · 2023-10-19 15:48 So what research did you already do? If you didnt, its better to ask some account or sales person this question… ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digitaldarragh · 2023-10-19 16:37 I've found one case in England. Made by a company called It-Case. But their sales people haven't gotten back to me with prices. I also found a company in the US. But the price of getting it delivered to Ireland with Customs added as well increased the price to double. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- selfhosted-ModTeam · 2023-10-20 03:25 This post is being removed due to the subject not being related to the "selfhosted" theme of the community.
