Homepage Dashboard on TrueNAS Scale reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _kakuhoe · 2023-10-18 18:43 I have homepage installed through TrueNAS as an app which works and allows me to access the web portal. However the config files are stored in 'ixVolume' automatically, and I'm not sure how to access them to modify homepage. All the tutorials I have watched on YouTube install it through the command line on Ubuntu or other Linux distros. [https://github.com/gethomepage/homepage](https://github.com/gethomepa ge/homepage) This might be a dumb question since I'm new to selfhosting but thanks for any advice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-18 21:42 Try /r/TrueNAS? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EddieKeytonJr · 2023-10-19 08:28 Ip:port The port should have been set when installing. Click the app, click edit and see what port. Then goto the ip:port ---------------------------------------------------------------------- goshoredita · 2023-10-19 17:42 When installing, make sure to adjust the Storage settings. It will depend on your exact setup, but assuming, you have an SMB share where you want the config files to be, try the following: * Go to the location and create a new folder. Call it "homepage" or something like that. * Add a new Host Path Volume and under **Mount Path** type: `/app/config` * Under the Host Path choose the folder you created. ex. `/mnt/data/shared/apps/homepage` Now the config files will actually be present on your SMB and just mapped to the container. Please keep in mind, you will need to have the proper permissions as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xstar97 · 2023-10-19 21:48 https://truecharts.org/manual/SCALE/guides/getting-started#adding- truecharts You can try the truecharts variant instead and enable the codeserver addon to access the apps files in a web editor. So after its active you would go to (replace with your scaleIP) http://truenas.local:36107/?folder=/app/config Just edit there watch the Changes happen in real time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaSnipe · 2023-11-09 18:51 The best way, all build-in ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Strang3r_Online · 2023-11-22 23:23 Hi, I attempted your steps and when I try to update after making the changes I get the below error. >Error: \[EFAULT\] Failed to update App: Error: UPGRADE FAILED: failed to create patch: The order in patch list: \[map\[mountPath:/app/config name:persist-list-0 readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/app/config name:config readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/dev/shm readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/shared readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/tmp readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/var/logs readOnly:false\] map\[mountPath:/var/run readOnly:false\]\] doesn't match $setElementOrder list: \[map\[mountPath:/app/config\] map\[mountPath:/dev/shm\] map\[mountPath:/app/config\] map\[mountPath:/shared\] map\[mountPath:/tmp\] map\[mountPath:/var/logs\] map\[mountPath:/var/run\]\] In terms of permission settings I gave the folder I created modify access on the app level.
