Octopus Energy Bill Downloader for automatically adding bills to Paperless reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- O726564646974 · 2023-10-18 15:21 I've created a project for automatically getting Octopus Energy bills into Paperless and figured you folks might find that neat :) You can find it on [GitHub](https://github.com/OllieJC/oebd) and there's a Docker image too `ghcr.io/olliejc/oebd:latest` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- b-A-shi · 2023-10-18 15:41 Wohoo, thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AznSzmeCk · 2023-10-18 18:25 Whoa thanks for sharing. Currently rolling my own script for municipal electricity and it'd be super helpful to see how others are tackling this. I'm a noob at SW code. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UnacceptableUse · 2023-10-19 06:59 Awesome, thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jared0430 · 2023-10-19 10:30 Just used it to download all my historical bills, it even downloaded my Bulb bills from before I was switched to Octopus. Thanks for the great tool! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rjames24000 · 2023-10-19 11:41 oh this is a neat idea.. could be super useful to do the same for all my bills and paychecks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CheebaSweets · 2023-10-19 12:20 this is awesome, thank you!! also, I think this might force me to update my paperless container, I'm currently on the old deprecated linuxserver image of paperless ---------------------------------------------------------------------- O726564646974 · 2023-10-19 12:35 Oh nice and you're welcome! I figured that would work along with companies that use Octopus like Co-op. Did it include Bulb in the filename? It uses the account/bill details from their API to create the it, so expecting it to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- O726564646974 · 2023-10-19 12:36 If only other providers/suppliers were this progressive with their/an API, eh?! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jared0430 · 2023-10-19 12:37 Yes, it did! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- O726564646974 · 2023-10-19 12:38 I did it the other way around.. updated my paperless to ngx and tidied it all up along with some auto consumption scripts and then wondered if I could automatically ingest things, so ended up making this tool! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rjames24000 · 2023-10-19 13:26 would be nice to work out of the box.. but with selenium and a headless chrome driver along with death by captcha i dont think they can stop us from scraping ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MrShared · 2023-10-19 17:07 Little offtopic: but is there any way to get (real time) data from octopus into home assistant? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- O726564646974 · 2023-10-19 17:23 I haven't set mine up, but looks like others have accomplished some integrations: [https://community.home-assistant.io/t/octopus-energy- agile-tariff/160458](https://community.home-assistant.io/t/octopus- energy-agile-tariff/160458) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Chrisophogus · 2023-10-19 17:47 I’d never heard of paperless before. Installing that immediately and adding this. Amazing work. Thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sexyshingle · 2023-10-19 18:56 PSA: "Octopus Energy" sounds like a cool rock band name... but apparently, it's a British power company.
