Streaming local video and audio playlist to Chromecast

I've got a NFC card reader (esphome/Home Assistant) which allows me to
trigger events in Home Assistant, such as streaming audio or video to
a Chromecast. This works fine, but only for short videos or single
audio files. Now I want to stream a playlist or a large video to a
Chromecast.

What would be a good way to achieve this? I don't need an extensive
media library because I already have Home Assistant and DS Video on my
Synology as a video library. Even a CLI app would be fine, I just want
good video and playlist support.

I've already tried Plex, Kodi and Jellyfin, but I'm looking for a more
simple solution.
