Please Share LAN-Only Mealie or Tandoor Docker Compose Files reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ResearchTLDR · 2023-10-17 22:25 I have Portainer running several self-hosted apps, but I am having a hard time getting a recipe and food planner app like Mealie or Tandoor to work. I'm sure some of you have gotten this to work, and I'm hoping you'll share how you do it. Some context: I have nothing exposed to the Internet, and I just have a Wireguard VPN set up on my phone and laptop for if I want to access my self- hosted apps while away from my home. All the docs and examples I can find for Mealie and Tandoor assume that I am exposing them to the Internet in some way, and that is not my use case. I access my self-hosted apps via their IP and port number (and I have them organized in a dashboard for ease of use.) I know this is not the most common way, but I know others do this, too. So that's why I am asking for some of you lovely people to share your docker compose files for self-hosting Mealie or Tandoor with no domain name, proxy manager, etc. Just connection via IP address and port number from the local network. P.S. I am fine with either using SQLite to avoid needing a seperate database, or including something like Postgres inside the same Docker Compose file, either way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrispyBegs · 2023-10-17 22:29 `---` `version: "3.7"` `services:` `mealie-frontend:` `image: hkotel/mealie:frontend-v1.0.0beta-5` `container_name: mealie-frontend` `environment:` `# Set Frontend ENV Variables Here` `- API_URL=http://mealie-api:9000 #` `restart: always` `ports:` `- "9925:3000" #` `volumes:` `- /home/crispy/docker/mealie/data/:/app/data/ #` `mealie-api:` `image: hkotel/mealie:api-v1.0.0beta-5` `container_name: mealie-api` `deploy:` `resources:` `limits:` `memory: 1000M #` `volumes:` `- /home/crispy/docker/mealie/data/:/app/data/` `environment:` `# Set Backend ENV Variables Here` `- ALLOW_SIGNUP=true` `- PUID=1000` `- PGID=1000` `- TZ=Europe/London` `- MAX_WORKERS=1` `- WEB_CONCURRENCY=1` `- BASE_URL=https://mealie.yourdomain.com` `restart: unless-stopped` `volumes:` `mealie-data:` `driver: local` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 22:34 Why not share with us what you have tried so far (your compose file) and then we can see what the error might be? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 22:35 Pssst Crispy, that formatting doesnt work ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrispyBegs · 2023-10-17 22:36 yeah i know, never figured out how to get indents to work on reddit. but other than that it's a working compose so maybe the OP can use it in some way ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 22:44 Just in case you never heard of it, [RES](https://redditenhancementsuite.com/) is amazing for Reddit from a desktop and it makes a lot of things so much simpler. But without using that, you can indent every line of code by 4 spaces and it becomes code formatted. With a compose file and many lines thats annoying tho, so having RES makes that much simpler with a single click. What you tried was to format every line by itself as code with a ` in front and ` at the end of the line, which works of course but only for each single line. Since YML in Docker compose files is very sensitive to indents of each line, those get lost and every line starts at column 1 instead of being indented. Or you just use https://www.pastebin.com or similar and paste the compose there and share the link instead of messing with Reddit formatting :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zoredache · 2023-10-17 22:44 > yeah i know, never figured out how to get indents to work on reddit. You could always post your code on your favorite pastebin, or gist.github.com and include a link. You can even do both, paste include your code in reddit, and post a gist, making it more more likely you will have shared something people will be able to use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrispyBegs · 2023-10-17 22:45 sick thanks, just installed RES ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 22:46 or use [RES](https://redditenhancementsuite.com/) ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 22:48 Oh boy, youre in for a treat :) enjoy! Especially the ability to tag users with custom tags and attach a link to that is worth so much over a long time. For example you can tag someone as "nice guy" and from then on, whenever they post somewhere and you see them, they stand out as being tagged as "nice guy", of course that also works for "idiots" etc. But the main thing i enjoy from RES is the simple formatting of posts, makes it so easy. There is a ton more functions tho, go explore. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sk1nT7 · 2023-10-18 02:45 https://github.com/Haxxnet/Compose-Examples ---------------------------------------------------------------------- loopyroberts · 2023-10-18 03:39 I managed to get it working with the following single container. I also use LDAP authentication to authentik so I can get 2FA via Duo. If you don't want LDAP just remove all the LDAP env variables. All working brilliantly. The natural language parser is amazing. mealie: image: ghcr.io/mealie-recipes/mealie:nightly container_name: mealie ports: - "9925:9000" # deploy: resources: limits: memory: 1000M # volumes: - mealie-data:/app/data/ environment: # Set Backend ENV Variables Here - ALLOW_SIGNUP=true - PUID=1000 - PGID=1000 - TZ=XX/YY - MAX_WORKERS=1 - WEB_CONCURRENCY=1 - BASE_URL=https://mealie.YOURSITE.com - LDAP_AUTH_ENABLED=true - LDAP_SERVER_URL=ldap://:389 - LDAP_BASE_DN=dc=ldap,dc=SITE_NAME,dc=site - LDAP_QUERY_BIND=cn=service,ou=service,dc=ldap,dc=SITE_NAME,dc=site - LDAP_QUERY_PASSWORD=PASSWORD - LDAP_USER_FILTER=(&(objectClass=user)(memberOf=cn=LDAP_GROUP ,ou=groups,dc=ldap,dc=SITE_NAME,dc=site)) - LDAP_ADMIN_FILTER=(&(objectClass=user)(memberOf=cn=LDAP_GROU P,ou=groups,dc=ldap,dc=SITE_NAME,dc=site)) - LDAP_ID_ATTRIBUTE=cn restart: always ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr_doener · 2023-11-30 21:21 I have the same setup as you.
