Both have decent performance and are very much production ready. Except both can’t handle various artists compilations very well, and Navidrome doesn’t do folder based playback (which is nuts IMO). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- s1mkin · 2023-10-17 13:41 What is that index page you are displaying in the screenshot? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RPaisley · 2023-10-17 13:42 Heimdall https://heimdall.site/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- s1mkin · 2023-10-17 13:43 Thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Porculius · 2023-10-17 13:45 You look like a solution searching for a problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RPaisley · 2023-10-17 13:46 Most certainly. So in order to keep things working properly (as in, only transcode when absolutely needed, or never) a lot of people have their 4K content in a separate library from the other stuff. And then they only share the 4K libraries with those users who are capable of directplaying it for example. This avoids a lot of issues. Of course someone will comment "but it works perfect for me duh!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RazzFraggle81 · 2023-10-17 14:21 Hmm do not think it has auth, but some things are best kept local Is updated quite often do do think it will show up some day ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hairless_Human · 2023-10-17 14:21 Homepage. You can use Moonlight to remote into your system and run all kinds of emulators. Requires a lot of config to get working though. The client is available for almost any device, and it doesn't require any media management, just download a TV or Movie into a directory and adds the metadata immediately. Like Netflix at home. You can also build public links for friends to view your library. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RPaisley · 2023-10-17 14:48 That's exactly it. If I have it in 4K I like to have it in HD to save on the transcoding. It also gives an excuse for a second set of posters in Plex 😉 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 14:48 https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/179ybgl/any_ideas_of_what _to_run_next_just_looking_for/k59di2b/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kdog720 · 2023-10-17 14:49 Oh thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kdog720 · 2023-10-17 14:52 Makes total sense. If your userbase is small, especially when they're all on the same network using modern devices with Findroid/Swiftfin/JMP they can easily direct stream 4K and in my personal case my GPU can handle multiple 4K transcodes so when it does have to do that it's not a big deal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-17 19:30 Yes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NomadicWorldCitizen · 2023-10-17 22:24 Ah ok. I like it because it uses AI to try and detect known faces. I also like how it organizes the photos and how you can search by the meta data. It is great at backing up photos from your phone, but making them accessible in a usable format. Similar to Google photos, but self hosted. And even some better features IMO. It is also under heavy development, so there are frequent updates. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BruiserBaracus · 2023-10-18 06:16 That's pretty neat. 1. Do you have a couple of physical IP Phones at home that you're using like an intercom of sorts? 2. Are you interfacing with softphones? 3. Have you implemented trunking? 4. Are you making calls outside of your lab i.e. to actual phones?
