Best software for dealing with audio books in various "formats"? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ZjY5MjFk 路 2023-10-16 12:45 I have a bunch of digital audio books, but they are all in different "formats". By "formats", I mean the typically mp3, flac, ogg, BUT also some are just "one big file" while others are one file per chapter. Some are even broken down to sub directories, etc. -- It's really hard to auto play some of these and keep track of what parts I've already listened too with a normal audio player. Maybe there is a good self hosted solution ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Im3th0sI 路 2023-10-16 12:58 Plex, using this guide: [https://github.com/djdembeck/Audnexus.bundle] (https://github.com/djdembeck/Audnexus.bundle) Then something like bookcamp (android) or prologue (iOS) to play the books. For all that is holy don't use plex's native app for audiobooks :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Conscious-Fault-8800 路 2023-10-16 12:59 Audiobookshelf (!) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zarevskaya 路 2023-10-16 14:06 馃挴, I use it, very good app! A must-have. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Low-Chapter5294 路 2023-10-16 15:01 Yep - this works pretty well. I'd love to see an Android Auto integration for it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Murky-Sector 路 2023-10-16 16:41 I use plex. The plex "series" type library specifically. One series per audiobook, each episode is a chapter. Files are mp4 with no video track, audio only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pollotechnoloco 路 2023-10-17 07:29 The app already has Android Auto support
