proxy on docker and fail2ban not working reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lonely-observer · 2023-10-16 12:30 recently i installed nginx proxy manager via docker, added jellyfin as a proxy with my domain, jellyfin and fail2ban installed on linux mint , but fail2ban log ip but its not blocked by fail2ban, as far as i understand docker does not have access to iptable. if anyone have some similar setup or what should i change to IDS to make it work ---------------------------------------------------------------------- indykoning · 2023-10-16 19:20 Sadly I've experienced the same, it cannot block ips within dockers network. What I've started i using is https://www.crowdsec.net/ It detects and blocks "suspicious behaviour" and has a crowdsourced Blocklist of hackers/spammers ips. There's introductions for the different reverse proxies ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lonely-observer · 2023-10-17 03:17 well thanks for the info will try to setup croudsec it seems everyone loves docker but forget to mention many pitfalls.
