Open source document management system with version control? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gnad · 2023-10-13 15:06 Hello, I have a small team in charge of preparing documents for company products, and I'm looking for a better way to organize files than Windows explorer. The tool should have the following basic requirements: - Self hosted, open source - Can handle Word, Excel, PDF files (OCR PDF would be a plus) - Metadata, tags - Global search - User permissions - Version control: Can view edit history, roll back changes,... - Easy to use GUI Paperless-ngx seems popular but it doesnt have version control. I think it's better to ask the pro here. If anyone can give recommendation I'd be grateful ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nashosted · 2023-10-14 00:48 Docpht should do it. https://github.com/docpht/docpht ---------------------------------------------------------------------- carl2187 · 2023-10-14 06:42 Nextcloud would do most of it. Add in some add ins and you'd have it all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gnad · 2023-10-15 15:36 what advantages would it have over ready-made solution for DMS (openkm, mayan, alfresco...)?
