Firefly 3 data importer install guide? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Aebous · 2023-10-13 11:01 Hey all, after much use of a guide I was able to get firefly III installed and am able to access it on my Synology NAS running dsm7. Now I'm wondering a few things... Is it worth it for me (a U.S. citizen) to install the importer as I just have US banks. If so is there a guide? Cause I am struggling. I've tried doing portainer, container manager and followed the instructions on firefly III documentation website and yeah nothing is working, I'm not even getting it installed. If I don't need it is there any way I can have my bank account push transactions to firefly. I'm a complete noob to this so I have no doubt it's all my fault. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-13 12:36 > nothing is working, I'm not even getting it installed. With so many details on the exact problem i dont even know where to begin, sorry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Aebous · 2023-10-13 12:48 Thanks, yeah mainly looking for a guide as I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong vs a problem with the install. I'll check those out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-13 12:52 But a guide already exists? https://docs.firefly-iii.org/data- importer/installation/ If you dont tell us what is wrong with it, then how should anyone help you? *smh* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Aebous · 2023-10-13 13:04 I'll make a new post with specific issues when I'm back at my computer. I was just hoping for a step by step guide that doesn't include terminal as apparently Synology dsm 7+ doesn't have terminal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-13 13:06 Uhm... sorry but if youre trying to do selfhosting stuff with avoiding terminals youre going to have a tough time. Thats just how most things are done. And yes, Synology definitely can open a terminal to do things. Dont bother with a new post, it wouldnt make a difference imo. Maybe you should ask in /r/Synology and subs like /r/LinuxQuestions /r/Linux4Noobs instead? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Aebous · 2023-10-13 13:10 Ok, I'll look into those subs and figure out how to access terminal
