Selfhost Grist and InvoiceNinja reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- amateurghostbuster · 2023-10-11 23:58 Hello. I’m trying to self host Grist and InvoiceNinja. I’m thinking of going with DigitalOcean but I am overwhelmed by the amount of choices. It seems to me like a droplet is what I need, but I’m not sure. If yes, would I need one for each Grist and InvoiceNinja? Or would I run two containers on one droplet? Can I use a GUI based OS to host them? I’m much more comfortable with a desktop environment that a straight command line. I understand I’d still have to use the command line within the desktop environment but I’d prefer that to just a command line. Can you recommend a good OS? I’m not a complete beginner but I’ve also only done this kind of thing once or twice and by following documentation. I’ve never used Docker before. Is there anything else I would require that I’m not considering? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-12 00:10 Use a basic Ubuntu droplet, use the commandline and learn the basics. Install Docker, learn that. Deploy your two containers. /r/LinuxQuestions and /r/Linux4Noobs are excellent subs for Linux beginners. You need to start learning it at some point when you want to use it, there is no way around that.
