Nginx Proxy Manager Custom Locations to docker containers reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TylerOfTrades · 2023-10-11 16:56 I've already setup successfully all the containers with a subdomain before. However I found it very clunky and annoying. So I'm trying to set them all up on a subdirectory of the main domain. However every single application does two things. I get a blank page, or a page with no css loaded. It's just text and no formatting or images. If I inspect, in the console it says a bunch of 404 for things. I'm assuming this has to do with needing the root & index to be set for each location. If so, I have no clue how to set this across containers. I already have a network of all them together and can use their hostname to set them. Currently I'm trying to get npm itself in a subdirectory, but I get the 404 errors & am now getting a different issue that might be caused by me and now has to be reinstalled. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sk1nT7 · 2023-10-11 23:32 Keep using subdomains! Using subdirectories will cause a lot of problems and headaces. A nightmare to setup properly for multiple applications due to relative paths, hardcoded routes and many more factors. For some apps you would even have to adjust the source code or web proxy config to get things to work. Too much hassle. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TylerOfTrades · 2023-10-12 07:14 I feared this, seeing how little documentation there was. A bit disappointing the sub-domains work, but don't look as good as the sub- paths. Hopefully it get's easier.
